The US will get 250 Mile version of Kona EV

  1. Hyundai brought its recently revealed Kona EV to the New York Auto Show and let us know that the longer-range version -- the 250-mile, 64-kWh battery one -- will be sold in the US.

    The one thing they didn't give was the price. The writer of our article says he expects it will cost in the mid-to-upper $20K range, but that sounds crazy optimistic to me (the base Kona starts at $19,5K, so it's easy to see how he deductively reasoned this, but didn't take the $7,500 tax credit or other incentives into account). I've read $35 to 40K guessed elsewhere, and I think that's probably more likely. I am happy to be wrong on this.

    yeah, take teh price for the Ioniq and then add a chunk for the bigger battery. I'd expect it to come in just under the Bolt.
