I do a regular round trip of 230 miles and ideally would like a car that would be able to do this trip without re-charging. It looks like the new niro ev can manage this but I'm concerned about the range in the uk winter. Motorway driving at 65/70 mph with a temp of say 0-5 C would probably be the worst conditions. Is this too much to expect from the 64kw niro ev? Appreciate your help.

Under those conditions your range will be under 200 miles, and even a bit less than that if using the heater,

I don't think you could manage that in winter weather on one charge. However, I wouldn't think that you would not need to hang out for 45 minutes to top up the charge on the way. Ten to fifteen minutes on a DC fast charger en route, on only one leg of the trip, ought get you there and back, I'd think.

Thank you all - I'm going to have to put in a charger at the destination. That way I can 'top up' for the return journey.
