Did you tell your dealer that new SEs in multiple countries are all having the same problem so MINI will have to come up with the answer? Or is MINI concealing this shared complaint from dealers?
Yes, I’ve told the dealer on multiple occasions that there are SE owners around the world experiencing this issue and most if not all picked their SEs up in mid to late December. The dealer says that they passed this on. I have also told Mini Connected support and I included that info in the Mini app feedback, so they can’t claim not to know of the issue.
Found this MINI connectivity compatibility check tool - https://www.mini.com/connectivity-us - but its not functional for US customers However, out of curiosity this non-US tool - https://www.mini.com/en_MS/home/mini-connectivity.html - says my MINI is - MINI COOPER S, 2021 - huh? I wonder if that's the reason "Charge & Climate timer" is not available on the app, although app say Cooper SE and shows SOC, charge history, etc. Dealer doesn't have a clue on this. Need to talk to someone knowledgeable enough at MINI on this interesting issue. BTW, after getting my MINI, I'm finding it hard to get hold of ASK MINI, is there any other number I should reach out to ?
I am a new SE owner and I picked the car up on 12/30. Signature Trim in British racing green with a white top and white mirrors. I am having the same issue with the Charge and climate timer setting menu being unavailable. As far as I can tell the other functions in the Mini app are working fine. The Dealership had no idea what I was complaining about and so I just gave up and am just waiting for Mini to fix it. So far I am loving the car though!
Using that link my 2022 SE also shows the VIN as a 2021 Cooper S. Hmmmmmm. I am one of those with the OP issue.
Here's a question. Is there anyone out there who took delivery of a 2022 SE in December who is able to use the "Charge and Climate timer" feature of the Mini App? If so can you please post here indicating when you took delivery?
I use mine every day. Production started 10/7/21, took delivery 12/7/21. Here are some screen shots of my settings including the version of the app I’m running.
There was a stop sale on Minis in December with some people having their pick up delayed for a few days until an in vehicle software update for an issue with the SOS call system had been applied. The software update was issued by Mini on the 14th of December. Has anyone who picked up their Mini from the 15th after the stop sale was lifted got a working app? My app is also 1.7.2.
My 2022 Cooper SE doesn't have charge & climate timer either, I got it today and production started around 20th December. Considering contacting my dealership. Really hoping there's a fix for this
Spoke to the dealer again today and the car is going in tomorrow for them to look into the problem so I’ll have a loaner SE for a few days while it’s with them. At least it’s another electric! I don’t really expect a fix unless Mini release new software while it’s in, but it’s worth trying, and maybe plugging it in to the dealer computer and doing the software update from mid December again will return a positive result. To be fair the dealer has been pretty good about this and they have continued to follow up, it’s just Mini themselves who’ve seemed very slow, and the Mini Connected helpline is not very helpful.
Congrats on the new SE! If you really need to use the charge and climate timer before there’s a fix you can set it in the car. The issue is that it’s not available on the app. I’d recommend telling your dealer about the issue and letting them know it’s an issue experienced in a number of countries with cars produced and collected at a similar time. The more notifications they have the sooner they’ll look at producing a fix. Mine was built week commencing the 6th December and I picked it up on the 19th.
So we seem to be honing on upon a few facts. The original OP issue "Charge & Climate time" function not working on the Mini App .... Many people around the world have this issue There was a software update about Dec 14th No one yet who took delivery after that has said it is working for them A few of us with the problem have their VIN translate into 2021 Cooper S rather than 2022 Cooper SE So people who have the issue: Can you post if here if you took delivery on or before Dec 14th? Can you check your VIN using https://www.mini.com/connectivity-us or https://www.mini.com/en_MS/home/mini-connectivity.html and post here if it says Cooper SE People who do NOT have the issue: If you took delivery on or after Dec 15th please post here If your VIN translates to Cooper S please post here We should be able to determine if either of these two issues are the cause (because mini seem to be struggling ). fyi, I took a scan through this thread and to date 12 people have posted as having this issue! If any of you are now "fixed" please let us know FrancoMINIPNW Bemsha SpeedyRS David Baker RND DavidSumm kicksology e22mini daga wessy Marti Louw BRGMini
My 2022 arrived at my dealer in late July, and I drove away a couple of days after that. My Climate Timer works reasonably well - there are some times when it takes several minutes for the message to get to the car and then back to my app, even when I'm looking out the window at the car. [That feature is something that I won't use in the spring, summer, or fall, but it sure is nice when the temp is single digits (f).] The old app wouldn't work at all, and I had to delete it and download the new one, but it's been good since then. http://www.1revorg.org/mini.html
I don't have the issue. Picked up 10 Dec. The link above says I have a 2021 Cooper S. Hope this helps!
I have the app issue as well, picked up Dec 31. VIN shows MINI COOPER S, 2021 Seems in ilne with everyone else with the issue.
No issues with my app, picked up my 2022 back in June. The link above also says mine is a 2021 Cooper S so probably not relevant to this specific issue
