About a year ago I was thinking of buying a new Kona EV, but it was near impossible to find one.

Today I decided to look again, and I'm astonished to see that the 8 dealers within 25 miles from me have a total of 164 of them in stock! And that does not even include the 2020's the same dealers are sitting on!

What in the world has happened? Is this because of the bad publicity from the battery fires/ recall?

And then I looked at the trade in value of the Ultimate trim I wanted to buy a year ago. According to Kelly Blue Book, a 2020 EV Ultimate with only 5000 miles on it has lost more than 1/3 of it's value already!!!

Can this possibly be? If I'm still willing to buy one, seems to me Hyundai needs to offer far, far more than the current $3000 cash to move these cars.

What am I missing here? I've never seen anything like this.
