Hyundai announced the creation of the IONIQ brand which will have three models by 2024. With the IONIQ 5 coming in 2021 which is based on the 45 concept shown last year. Wish they would rename the current IONIQ Electric, the IONIQ 4. Alas, they are sticking with the current name.
Thanks for posting! I think we're going to make an Ioniq sub-forum separate from the current Hyundai/Kia sub-forum.
I'll be on the lookout for it. I sure wish my local dealers would carry the Hyundai/Kia EVs. One does have the Ioniq Electric but not the Kona. I am hoping this push from Hyundai (followed by Kia) will get them on board. I doubt before I need to get one though. Very frustrating.
I feel like Kia and Hyundai are realizing that they need to produce more EVs than maybe they had originally planned for. This new sub-brand could be part of that realization. Unfortunately, it does take a while to get supply chains in order to support increased production.
