    I’m at the recently installed Electrify Canada charging station at the Canadian Tire store on Woodlawn Road in Welland Ontario. I thought I might document my experience L3 charging my 2018 Nissan Leaf SL W/40KW battery. Arrived at 2:10 pm, connected the CHADEMO plug to my car and attempted to initiate charge using the card reader. I used used both of my MasterCards and my debit card but the charge session would not initiate. I called the 800 number and was informed by the friendly attendant that the card reader was down and she would give me a free charge. The charge started at app 2:20 PM and I was at 51% state of charge. Charging commenced at 48 kW and continued at that rate for about five minutes and gradually tapered down to 20 kW as I approached 80% at 2:45 PM. Between 80 and 90% state of charge I tapered down again from 20 kW to 10 kW. I reached 90% state of charge at 2:55 PM. I should mention that I did get the rapidgate fix on my Leaf. By 3 PM, I was at 92% SOC and my charge rate was down to 6.5 kW. At this point in time the charger is charging slower what it would be if I was charging at a L2 charge station.
    Once I disconnected, I had been plugged in for 43 minutes, my bill would’ve been $12.88 and my SOC went from 51% to 93%. Also, according to LeafSpy my battery temperature before charge was 15°C and after was 21.5°C. The outside air temperature was 3°C and I park my Leaf in a heated garage hence the 15° initial temperature.

    Thanks for the stats. The tapering at 80% is normal and most would not go past that number due to the time. Your speed to get to 80% was good and your time from 51% to 80% of 15 minutes was good as well. I would have stopped and left after that.

    Being as the charge was free I continued charging past 80% solely to report here, otherwise I would have quit at 80.
