MINI has had diamond cut wheel options for a while now (roulette spoke, propeller spoke, rail spoke, etc.) ... they look nice, but I hear diamond cut wheels tend to have corrosion issues. If you have some that are a year or two old, how are they holding up (pictures encouraged)? If you were building another mini, would you choose them again, or make a point to avoid them?
I have winter and non-winter tires on MINI Loop Spoke rims, which are definitely not diamond cut. However, I'm sure diamond-cut rims are coated with a clear or colored layer, just like the Loop Spokes. Are you thinking the sharper edges of a diamond-cut design would be more likely to wear through the coating and become corroded?
Being wheels, there's a lot that could compromise the coating: the sharp edges, sure... but also rock chips, road salt, curbing, etc.
