My question is: Should I leave my 2019 Niro EV connected to my in-house charging cable or leave with the battery charged to 80% [or some other level]?

Background: I am going to be out of the country for 3 months. I am sure that the propulsion battery can support the 12v battery during that time and I would expect the propulsion battery to be OK without the charging cable connected, but would it be better to have it connected? Are there any risks one way or the other that I should consider?

Thanks for your thoughts and advice.

  3. Charge it to 60-70% and unplug. The phantom strain is extremely little. Unless you need to drive long distance immediately when you come back if leave it at 60-70%. If you need it immediately 80% is ok too. I wouldn't go any higher if possible.
