800 miles in last 4 weeks and all in EV w no ICE at all (verified by hour meter via spark plug pick up). Since I expect virtually all my driving to be local/all EV and therefor go 1/2 year (or more) before taking a trip longer than 50 Miles, do I have to worry about the 12v battery losing its charge? Will it be maintained if the ICE is not run? Will the very short/occasional ICE operation computer dictated for diagnostics and lubing be enough to maintain it?

  3. If it's like any other PHEV the 12V is charged by a DC to DC converter from the big battery any time it's on--not by an engine belt-driven alternator so you have nothing to fear.

Thank you. I wasn’t looking forward to having to check the charge periodically. Now I know I don’t have to.
