Just heard from my dealer, they have been given a production date of December 2019 from Hyundai. They figure actual delivery in February 2020. black on Red preferred ordered on May 13, 2019. Its definitely going to be a 2020 model. If you had told me it was going to be 9 month wait when I ordered I would have laughed and said forget about it, now its only a mere 4 months away, pfft cake walk !!! Talk among yourselves , I am feeling a little verklempt.....I think I am going to just cry a little into my beer.
What province are you from Apu? I'd venture either Quebec or BC, am I right? I think it is the two that were hit the worst from the federal subsidies from April since the combination with the provincial subsidy made it more enticing to get an EV. Still, waiting from May to February.... Outch.
Manitoba. If the liberals loose this upcoming federal election I hope at least the Kona is likely to arrive before the next budget, otherwise there may very well be Tesla in my future , ugh.
Unfortunately nothing new https://insideevsforum.com/community/index.php?threads/taking-pre-orders-in-canada.2537/page-10#post-43322
Yes I read the thread the 2018 , the only thing that seems new is that Hyundai is likely worse at their business in 2019-20.
I was expecting my car to arrive on October 10 but just got a call from my dealer that I can pick it up right now???? I was expecting delays, not an earlier than expected arrival. But I can't pick it up today for two reasons because I can't provider the dealer with two things. 1) Though it is the dealer who fills the paperwork to get the government rebate, I first have to go on the government site and create a account profile. When I click the button to do just that, the site says: "this website is not available for the moment. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause." 2) My insurer needs to email a proof of insurance to the car dealer. She just called me to say that her system went down and will only be able to do this tomorrow morning. Two systems down? The universe does not want me to drive electric tonight.
I am in Quebec, Canada. I cannot answer you on when it was ordered. I bought it in August was to buy the a cancellation of someone else who was tired of waiting. So I do not know when that person had originally ordered the car. It is a red ultimate 2019. In QC we do.
Not sure what you mean? This? https://vehiculeselectriques.gouv.qc.ca/rabais/ve-neuf/programme-rabais-vehicule-neuf.asp
Got the call! Picking up my red Kona Preferred in Grimsby, Ontario on Saturday! Ordered at the end of April, was told July, then that was changed to a 2020 in December, then back to a 2019 in early November, and now it's here at the beginning of October. Hurray!! Order to delivery (arrival at dealership) took 164 days.
Congrats! I'm still amazed that we have these cars sitting on the lots in the US and you have huge delays getting them in Canada. If I do a search on Hyundai US in the MA region, at least 20 or so pop up!
That was pretty quick (Canadian wait comparison) . Make sure you give it a good going over. I missed a small rip in the steering wheel covering when I picked up mine ( too exited I guess). The dealer did fix it later though at N/C. Look forward to a picture - congratulations.
RANT ALERT: So I got a little rant coming. As many people we keep waiting patiently for our vehicles to be delivered. At the beginning of October received a call from my dealer to come in if I was interested in the DEMO Kona (I ordered the Preferred this demo was Ultimate). OK I was willing to negotiate and all but on a vehicle that as we all know when people test drive they try it to the max....anyway long story short they were "willing" to drop the price of the vehicle by 2000.00$ That's it... Further to that sales person I am dealing with kind of said well it doesn't matter to me as fund might get depleted etc(it dropped from 10k to 8k in BC for the incentives already). So kind of make your mind deal I was told. Then I was told to expect my Vehicle for FEBRUARY 2020....Yup Ordered may 2019.
Basically they offered you their demo a their "dealer cost" minus any back end reimbursement from Hyundai. Nonetheless not an impressive deal. How many km did it have?
