  1. In my eyes with that many km and the paint chips its a used vehicle, but like you said if you wait do you potentially loose more on any possible decreased provincial incentives? though choice. At least the federal incentive is safe for a while. I guess if you like the demo then go for it as there are currently no real better alternatives with any other available new Kona's in Canada. I've been looking, its pretty much just a few demo cars across Canada in existing inventory. Its funny because I tried to deal with out local dealer on his white ultimate demo about 3 months ago and he would not sell at any price. If he offered it today at a couple grand off I don't think I would bite.

When I went to purchase a Kona preferred in August I was told that I would wait until May 2020 for it. Then I was told that someone had just canceled their order for a Kona Ultimate and that I could get that one in October. It was $7000 more than the preferred option but I just couldn't wait until May so I jumped on it. I did not regret my choice. :)

Not a good offer from your dealer. 5000 km could be considered a used one.
And yes we may lose on the 3k incentive from the clean B.C. program (which I really doubt as I am seeing more and more advertising about it) but we may also get the scrap it back.. in my case it would be great to get the 6000 for my ice car when we get the Kona.
Actually, has anyone heard or seen anything about the scrap it B.C. coming back?

Yes on October 8. It was manufactured on August 17 2019 so I guess it took something like 6 weeks to ship it from Korea to Canada.

  9. Was it the 2019 or 2020 model?

Thanks. Driving has become fun again since I have an electric car. I treat it like a game and I try things like letting go of the accelerator for long stretches just to see how much regen took place and trying to top my last score. I think my best so far is 0.5km. :)

That plus tracking my stats in a spreadsheet everyday. :)

The 2019. I don't think the Kona 2020 is available in Canada yet.

    Talk about a WTF Moment.

It will be ready tmrw for pickup, so excited. I am almost 100% certain it will be the 2019 model since it was ordered in May.

Once I get it and play with it I'll post a few pictures.

--- Now i have to get myself a Level 2 32amp 50' charger. That will be the challenge ---

    Looking thru Amazon right now

  16. Most EV charge cables are 22 feet but there are some good looking extension cables that will at least double that. If your panel and supply can handle it you might want to consider a 40amp + charger. A long run like that and cold weather will sap some of your power.

  17. I called my dealer this week in Montreal - Quebec and he told me he already got some 2020 models. I bought it at the beginning of June and he said that I should get the car by November. He said it would be the 2020 model.

  18. That is interesting as my dealer states my May 13 ordered Kona isn't scheduled for production until December. I like your dealer and schedule better :)

Ok got my Kona Finally. They received 2 only and I was basically the 2nd customer.

Model is 2020(not sure if there are any differences between 2019 model) apparently now just to be safe they are telling people it's a 12months wait(bull or not, don't know).

I'll post a few pictures tmrw morning as now it's way too dark lol.

  20. Great to hear , enjoy. Look forward to the pictures. Make sure you take one of the center display as that will tell us immediately if it is indeed a "2020" model;)

  21. I don't think it will make a difference as Grego got a preferred model, the center infotainment should be the same 7 inch display as the 2019 model. Its just the ultimate that gets the new 10.3 inch widescreen in the 2020 iteration. Nonetheless I eagerly await pictures as well :) Its cool to hear 2020 models are actually hitting the dealers.

  22. I'm doubtful. 2020s aren't listed on Hyundai websites yet.

  23. Look again, its appears they are. Looks like they have introduced a very stripped down new trim level "Essential" at the bottom price point of $44, 999 with acid yellow as only color choice and oddly it excludes the heat pump, adaptive cruise control and battery heater. The 2020 Preferred trim now has the premium infinity audio with 8 speakers but also with a new price of $1000 more. Grego can you confirm your price paid is what you ordered?
These seem to be all the key option differences of the 2020 preferred over essential:
    • Heat Pump System
    • Battery Heating system
    • Adaptive Cruise Control w/ Start-Stop
    • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with Pedestrian Detection
    • Blind Spot Collision Warning with Lane Change Assist
    • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning
    • Driver Attention Warning (DAW)
    • Parking Distance Warning - Reverse
    • Infinity® Premium Audio w/ Clari-fi™ Music Restoration Technology & 8 speakers
    • Heated Front Seats
    • Heated Steering Wheel
    • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
    • Cargo cover (net)
    • Unique LED taillights w/ graphics
    • Available Two-tone roof (optional)
    • Roof rails
    • Solar front glass
    • Rear privacy glass
The 2020 Ultimate looks unchanged other than new 10.3 inch infotainment unit. Looks like they did not add heated rear seats like earlier press releases implied.
