So when I bought my Clarity a few weeks ago I let the finance guy talk me into an extended warranty. They offered Zurich, and it was quite expensive ($3338, which was "discounted") but comprehensive and 10yr/120k. Having only ever bought one extended warranty before and that being on a used vehicle, I didn't realize you could get manufacturer extended warranties until I saw the thread on here on Honda Care.
Given that Honda Care is waaaay less expensive, and realistically I'm going to hit 120k before 10 years anyway, I emailed my dealer to cancel the Zurich warranty. I have all the info I need to do it and cancelling shouldn't be a problem, but the finance guy wants to call me and talk to me because I'm "missing some important information". I'm inclined to think that although this dealer has a good reputation and they weren't super pushy when I was buying, that in this case he's just going to try and talk me into keeping a warranty that I paid bank for but that isn't actually any better than Honda Care.
I do see from reviews online that Zurich is considered a reputable warranty company and a lot of people seem happy with them, though. Is there something I'm missing for why the Zurich warranty would be worth more? Otherwise I'm inclined to email the cancellation to Zurich and then tell the finance guy too bad, it is already cancelled.
