Why the 12 volt charging light?

I get that the orange light on the dash of my 2024 Kona electric glows when it’s being charged from the main battery. I guess it’s the same process as an alternator in gas-powered vehicles.
What I want to know is *why* do I need to know that the 12 volt battery is being charged by the 400 volt battery? How would it be different if Hyundai made charging the 12 volt from the 400 volt battery completely invisible to the end user?

A visible alert to indicate HV power is active under the hood for protection. It is handy to observe as well to be assured the routine 12V charging is being done without the need for a third party app.

If you’ve ever worked in product development you’ll understand this scenario.
At the final design review meeting for the Kona Electric, the engineering lead is hoping to get consensus to move the design into the production phase.
That person looks around the room and everyone seems ready to go.
Noting that the company’s legal staff were invited as a courtesy, he turns to them and says “is there anything you’d like to add?”
