Weird energy consumption oddity.

hmmm... I'm not sure how this would be possible.. My house sits at 115 ft and I'm about 1/4 mile from I-4. If Orlando is 130 ft lower than I-4 near me, it would be below sea level...
 
Used the trip planner and using the elevation at exit 55 on I-4, it is 70 feet higher than at my house, so that could explain the difference.. There is a hill on the way out of lakeland but I-4 near exit 28 is at 120 feet while at exit 55, it is at 190 feet.

On my daily commute, there is an elevation difference of 60 ft from my work to my home. I guess, even if the elevation difference is not significant, it still would explain a small difference in energy consumption..

I am just reporting what PlugShare shows in the elevation graph. Using PlugShare Desk Top https://www.plugshare.com/ (not the phone app) I clicked on "Plan new trip" in the main menu on the left about half way down. Then entered the starting point as "Orlando" And the destination as "Lakeland" This will give a rout between the two. On the right hand side there is an elevation button. I clicked on that to show the elevation graph. The lowest point on the graph is 85 ft the highest point on the graph is 229 ft. It shows the starting point in Orlando as being ~100 ft. It show the highest point as being 229 about 2 miles from Lakeland and then dropping off to 190 feet.

Download the (free) Google Earth Pro for Win10 or MacOS, which will give you more detail than you know what to do with :) , especially on a big monitor.
Once you have put a "from" to "to" in the Search box, you can right-click on the created route line for the elevation profile. If you want to narrow your search, you can zoom in, then right-click on any yellow balloon or red dot for "Directions from here" and "Directions to here" choice - choose a new pair of points.
The Elevation profile gives you total elevation gain / loss, which is the most useful data for comparison. Start and End points only, don't tell you whether you are on a "rail track" or a "switchback" kind of road.
The Kona dash data is very sensitive to slope change, especially on shorter routes. Even a cloverleaf elevation can make a difference...

See my previous post.. While my house is at 115 feet, there is a hill on I-4 that is at 190 feet elevation and that's what you got when you ran the query..

I stand corrected. Obviously your trip plan is more accurate than my generic one.
