Unlock Trunk with FOB Built-in Key

I'm posting this because I can't find this information anywhere else.

My simple question is "Where is the FOB's built-in key used?"

My Honda salesman didn't know. The owners manual on page 564 shows it being used, and has a picture, but I couldn't tell the location from that closeup, and the description simply says "Insert key and turn clockwise." Really!?!? Insert key and turn! Wow! I have never used a key before. Is that how they work?

The location of the key hole to open the trunk without the FOB is behind the rear headrest on the driver's side.

I'm sorry, if this is common knowledge and obvious. It wasn't to me.
 
No need to be sorry even though it has been posted before. This forum’s organization makes it impossible to group posts under a heading and make them a sticky so it’s difficult to find related info. Searching for key words is the best you can do.
I’ll add this info on why the mechanical locks and key are handy in an emergency so as to try to keep the related info in one place.

The key lock behind the seat is for when car or fob batteries die or there is a malfunction. This way you can always get in the trunk and on driver’s side panel there is a mechanical release for the gas filler door in case it malfunctions. Honda also included an inside emergency release lever for the trunk next to the latching mechanism but it is not well marked as it should be

When my son was a small child, I turned emergency drills into games. I showed him the emergency trunk release and had him crawl over lowered rear seats into the trunk and open it from the inside while it wasn’t completely dark. I crawled with him the first time. Then he progressed to being able to do it alone and and then with seats up and trunk dark (first with a flashlight and then without). We timed it and the grand prize was his favorite thing to do - take a happy meal to the airport and watch the planes land and take off and wave to the pilots. Now he’s not afraid of the dark or closed in spaces, and is “trunk safe”.

The hood release is mechanical only so once in car it is always accessible. To open the charge door when car is stone cold dead or malfunctioning, there is a cable with pull handle under driver’s dash.

So we have access to everything even if the car is “dead” unlike our Tesla brethren who can’t even get in their glove box!

Before I purchased the Cllarity I watched hours of video on Youtube. There are many how to type on the Clarity. You may want to view a few. There are many many more on just looking at the car, so you will have to play a little and see if it gives you any insight you are missing.

Thank you for the information! To be fair, I did search, but couldn't find anything both on the internet as well as here. :-(

Is the built-in key used for anything else?

I did that too, but various little points in lots of them are wrong. I've seen multiple youtube videos describing the paddle shifters as for the transmission. My favorite one though was a guy who mistakenly had the car in HV thinking he was in EV. Admittedly it can be confusing--he was equating the ECON mode button with EV, punched it, and assumed he was in all electric. He spent half the video trashing the car, figured out his mistake, and spent the second half praising it to the heavens.
