Transient transmission Error Message this am from my SE

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I've had my SE for 3 months and it's been flawless and I really love it. But this am, I had started off and turned the car on, and all of a sudden an error message appeared on the main dash display and said "Transmission in park" and refused to move. It would only allow me to move the transmission to Neutral and it rolled a bit. I then turned off the car, waited a few minutes, and it did it again when I restarted. I left the car then for about 30 minutes, then when I returned and tried again - it was totally fine and started with no error and just let me shift and drive the car. I was wondering if this glitch is worth a trip to service? Thank you.

I have not experienced this. There have been a couple instances where I thought I "started" the car, but it wasn't actually in "run ready" state.

I would recommend calling your service department to describe the problem to them. They may or may not ask you to bring it in to see if they can diagnose--but at least ask them to record your problem report in case it happens again.

Transmission in park can happen when the doors are not properly closed. This tends to happen more with frameless driver doors not properly closing in winter for a myriad of reasons (car wash, freezing rain, ice buildup, etc.).

I've definitely done this a couple of times, pushed the on switch faster than the brake! Took me a second to figure out why I wasn't moving.

Probably a coincidence that they are so similar, but I've gotten a "transmission not in park" error when I shifted into neutral without the car in the "ready" state.

Edit: nevermind, can't shift into neutral without being in drive ready. What I had done was turn the car off with it in neutral
