Here is the result of my research into a replacement tire for the Kona EV. All results are from Consumer Reports, so the data is unbiased and objective. CR did not test the Nexen N Priz that come with the car, so there is no direct comparison.
My criteria was, in descending order of importance:
Rolling Resistance>Noise>Snow Traction>Ice Braking>Wet Braking>Handling>Others
Every tire had to be at least Good in all categories. In no special order.
Bridgestone Ecopia (only one with excellent rolling resistance and noise)
Michelin Cross Climate (Not excellent in anything but very good in all)
Goodyear Assurance CS Fuel (Excellent noise, VG for the rest, including rolling resistance)
Continental Cross Contact (Excellent noise, VG most others including rolling resistance)
Pirelli P4 (All VG except excellent for wet braking and handling)
Vredestein Quatrac 5 (Excellent rolling resistance, VG noise, the rest good)
