Hey everyone! I’m working on early research for a possible EV-related startup, and I’m trying to understand the real pain points around insurance from actual owners.

This isn’t a pitch and I’m not selling anything — I just need to learn what’s true before I build anything.

If you own a Tesla or any EV:

  • What’s been the most frustrating part of dealing with insurance?
  • Have you ever had a small repair or minor damage that you just paid out of pocket instead of filing a claim?
  • If you have filed a claim, what took the longest or caused the biggest headache?
  • Do you worry about premiums going up if you file something small?
  • And overall: does EV insurance feel fair, or kind of unpredictable?
I’m in the “figuring out the problem” phase and would really appreciate any honest experiences or examples.
