That CCS to Tesla thing...

Following on to this segment but moving it to a new thread... here's the big question: there
must be some translation from CCS to Tesla protocol and back again, but where is it being done?
The adapter doesn't really look like something with smarts in it. Can newer Tesla charge port hardware
now speak Homeplug greenPHY over their pilot line and natively use CCS, needing only a passive
pass-thru for the connectors? I mean, it would make sense, given the move to type 2 in the EU.

I believe that Tesla's and CCS is pretty much the same thing with a different plug. There are probably minor differences since a CCS car seems to not be able to talk to the Tesla superchargers but that also might be because Tesla is not sharing their pricing with others. Non-Tesla cars need the app to start the charging etc. So they are obviously not using CCS-plug-and-charge.

Tesla probably only had to send an ota update to make it work in Europe to talk to CCS chargers. But it seems a little different with the super charger network to talk to CCS cars, but maybe with plug and charge CCS cars that'll come in the future.
