Telo Partners with Aptera to Put Solar Panels on Its Electric Pickup Trucks
The first spinoff customer for Aptera's ruggedized solar panels is the Polydrops company. They are taking pre-orders for their P21 "off-grid" camping trailer, which will be powered by Aptera solar panels.
Now there's news that the cute little (as short as a MINI Cooper) 500-hp Telo EV pickup truck will offer Aptera solar panels to help charge its batteries. The gif below shows different configurations for the Telo.
This silicon valley startup has a long, long way to go before this truck hits the road (Aptera could offer great advice), but it's still a fun idea. By opening the mid-gate and folding the rear seats, this tiny pickup will even carry 4x8 sheets of plywood.
There doesn't appear to be a market for small EV cars in North America (no company is rushing to fill the void created by the loss of the MINI Cooper SE). Is there a market for small EV pickup trucks? If so, the Aptera-enhanced version looks like a good option.
