Technical - charging the battery while driving

Hello, for those swimming in the technical details and diagrams please go wild on this.

The Clarity gas engine charges the battery and the battery drives the electric motor to drive the wheels.
Where/when does the A/C to D/C conversion take place?
Where in the car is there A/C current and where D/C for this system?

This video/post has a good explanation of the two-motor Honda hybrid system used in the Accord Hybrid (which the Clarity adopted):

Essentially, there are two electric motors; one that drives the wheels and another acting as a generator to recharge the battery. So the A/C to D/C conversions take place in those electric motors.

The A/C to DC conversion happens under the hood and DC travels under the passenger floor to a DC to DC converter by the battery.
Did I get that right?

So, energy comes out of the battery as direct current. It flows to the controller/inverter, which changes it to AC and controls how much current to feed to the AC electric motor.

The DC to DC converter generally just takes energy from the main battery, which is high voltage, and feeds it to the 12 volt battery which powers lights and a few other things.
