Argh! Now the IRS site is showing 3/15 for the form availability. Wonder what's going on? Maybe they are delaying the large refunds as long as possible.Have not been able to file my taxes because of a delay in Form 8936. Last week it was delayed til 2/15 and now is showing 2/23 as the available date.
TurboTax lets you enter the info, but catches the missing form during the review.
Or it could be nothing more than the typical glacial speed that the IRS moves at, a far more likely scenario, since that’s the way they’ve always been...when they’re not busy targeting conservative groups (hello, Lois Lerner).Looking a little closer at the IRS list of forms release dates, I see that the very delayed forms are most, if not all, for tax credits. I suspect the reason for the delay is so they can wait as long as possible to give us our refunds. It seems to be paying off to have elected this type of businessman, one who will not miss an opportunity to take advantage of people in a business deal. Ironically, I think many people voted for him for just that reason. Sorry for the political commentary; I just couldn't resist.![]()
If that’s form 8911, it’s also 3/15. Check dates here: https://www.irs.gov/e-file-providers/list-of-available-free-file-fillable-formsBack on topic, does anyone know the tax form used for claiming the credit for the installation of charging equipment? I called the IRS yesterday and they weren’t sure.
