Smart Charge Rewards: Kona EV Owner Experience?

ConEd, our local power company in NYC/Westchester County, is soliciting us to use late-night off peak charging with the Smart Charge Rewards program for cash payments and reductions in energy cost. It seems to require putting a device in the OBD scan port.

Has anyone had any experience, good/bad/otherwise, with this program?
 
Here in northern California, I signed up a couple years ago with a similar local program working through my JuiceNet-enabled EVSE. Never made much money on it, and if it's still building up credits they are too small to notice. But occasionally in the evening the app says "Smart Charge Event" and I feel eco-virtuous.
