According to the announcement, SK Innovation EV battery business (importation, domestic production, and sale of batteries for electric vehicles) is banned in the U.S. for 10 years.

Wow, this may throw a massive monkey wrench in the sale of the IONIQ 5 (as well as the Kia CV and Genesis JW) in the USA. The article describes exceptions for the Ford F-150 and VW MEB programs, as well as the repair or replacement of SKI batteries used in the Kia Niro EV, but it seems like the Hyundai E-GMP vehicles will be included in the ban since they use SK Innovation batteries (or at least the IONIQ 5).
On the one hand, theft of IP is a serious crime, but on the other hand, battery supply is already one of the primary choke point for EV production, and this will only make things worse IMO.
