side scuttle blinker trim piece installation

I saw these in real life and I personally like them better than the SE version.

Has anyone replaced this component? Is it just a matter of popping the original piece off and popping the new on on? Do they break easily upon removal?

I am only asking because they are criminally expensive for a piece of superficial plastic.

I replaced mine in 2021 and they are very easy to pop off and on. I didn't use a tool either. I just pried it off with my fingers. Mini uses metal clips on this piece but they are pretty thin and can break.

Look on eBay for this as there are lots of styles available and the price is better too.

If your stock scuttle is the same style (LCI2 LED strip versus the previous incandescent bulb), it should be a direct plug-n-play swap.

It looks like there may have been a change in connector styles for the LCI2 LED strip scuttle (or some will plug in to the harness directly while others plug into the bulb's socket. See 2022 SE side scuttle replacement thread.

If you have the older incandescent bulb scuttle, you will need to change a setting in Bimmercode so the car will operate the LED scuttle correctly.
