Recently picked up a full size spare, and now it is making this thundering vibration even with the 8mm rod c/w wingnut holding it down.
Rumbling sound gets louder particularly when playing Rocky Mountain Way on the head unit
Here are some shots of the installation: Auxiliary battery wiring: Loomed Wire under left bolt positive side comes out from under utilizing the existing bolt
40A fuse in a weatherproof enclosure accessible with frunk cover in place:
Remote control for fine tunning will live in center console (hidden), but also available to see the red backlighting indicating power on or off when car is on (Run mode or Utility mode):
The cover in the back sticks up about 3/4 inch because of the full size spare. I will make a new black cover in the summer, recessing the spare into a hole flush for a more aesthetic appearance:
Speaker details here
Note : If installing be sure to get a high to low level converter as the sub woofer won't power off using high level inputs (must use RCA inputs) for our Kona EVs.
Additionally our Kona EVs do not have ANC (active noise cancellation) as in the Ioniq 9. If installing into a vehicle with this feature, a second noise cancelling inverter module will have to be installed ( ~ $200 CDN).
Next...to get a jack that works as the scissor jack I have hits the battery at the front...Oh well, it's not a perfect world.
