Mitch McConnel spoke earlier but has been more quiet recently than:

• "There is no question that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of that day," McConnell said at the time. "The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their President."

House Committee has squeezed out more juice:

• "He's got to condemn this sh*t ASAP," Don Jr. wrote. "We need an Oval office address."
• "Mark, the president needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home," Ingraham wrote. "This is hurting all of us. He is destroying his legacy."
• "Can he make a statement?" asked Hannity. "Ask people to leave the Capitol."
• "Please, get him on TV," begged Fox & Friends' Kilmeade. "Destroying everything you have accomplished."
• Texts from lawmakers, the press and others told Meadows that Trump needed "to condemn this ASAP," "Mark protesters are literally storming the Capitol, breaking windows on doors, rushing in. Is Trump going to say something?" and "We are all helpless."

Ah but there is it. Dottering but still evil P45, impeached twice but still monetizing, persists. Good for him eh? The American Dream was never not about fleecing the masses. But a larger matter is in play. The US Republican Party has in the past had principles held differently from its counterpart. And worked some into policy with compromises.
