Rear view outside mirror

I stupidly broke my left black plastic mirror surround (don't ask).
Serendipitously, I found a new chrome pair cheap.
Any idea how to remove and replace the old ones?

Typically they held in by a few bolts and connector accessible after you pry off the triangle trim plastic on the inside.
