Range estimates

I got my Clarity a bit over a week ago and have put around 400 miles on it so far - almost all electric. It's been great.

I noticed, with a grin, that it had calculated that I was getting 199.9 mpg - which I think is as high as it goes, since it has stuck with that number for a while.

I was just on a longer drive and the ICE had to kick in for the final 20 miles. However, I noticed that the range estimate stayed pegged at 277 miles the entire time.

My theory is that the car is basing that estimate, at least in part, on getting 199.9 mpg.

Any ideas? I will disregard that range estimate going forward.

Yes you've run into a much discussed subject. We've come to conclude that the car is great but the estimated HV range is broken.
