Today I saw a Volvo XC40 with 1) no visible exhaust, and 2) a refueling/recharging flap on the driver's side. The latter in particular makes me think it was an XC40 Recharge... right, wrong, or maybe?

Today I saw a Volvo XC40 with 1) no visible exhaust, and 2) a refueling/recharging flap on the driver's side. The latter in particular makes me think it was an XC40 Recharge... right, wrong, or maybe?

Maybe. It could have been a plug in hybrid. The hybrid has the charge flap on the front drivers side fender near the door. The BEV has a charge flap on the rear quarter panel drivers side. Also the BEV has solid front grill the same color as the car.

The XC40 BEV will have the word “Recharge” embossed on the black trim on the C pillar near the spoiler. It can be hard to see from a distance though. And as previously mentioned, check out the grill. That’s a dead giveaway.
