Business who can write it off as an expense (cost similar to owning and writing off depreciation, but simplifies accounting). For personal buyers I don't understand why anyone leases.

I looked at a 2 year lease on a 2018 Leaf but the offered rate and down payment would have been around 7.5k / year. Totally insane! I immediately said thanks but no thanks when I saw those numbers and the dealer never tried to sweeten the deal, so clearly wasn't very motivated.

If you are doing high mileage, buying an EV is more cost effective.
