Plug-In Charging System Problem

I got this power system warning on my dashboard today after plugging into an EV charger at the mall. It stayed on for the rest of my drive and wouldn't let me use the EV. It also showed the "engine" icon which I'd never seen before. Toward the end of the day, I turned the car back on and the warning lights were gone. Has anyone else run into this problem? And suggestions?
 
1. Have you had all the updates installed? Especially Service Bulletin 18-097 (charging sensitivity problem) and 18-079 (multiple warning light). That last one has been reported to have been replaced by 18-089.
2. Have you tried a hard reset by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes?

Several have posted that these two actions have helped in similar situations.
