Place to tap into switched power in the trunk?

One thing I miss from my Subaru is a switched lighter outlet in the cargo area, sufficient to run a small electric food cooler (and to tap into for a second dashcam in the back). Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on places I could tap into in the back, or should I bite the bullet, and add something to the fuse box and run a wire back....

The optional ultrasonic sensors for the rear of the car are operational only when the car is running, but I don't know where that dealer-installed package plugs into the rear wiring harness. Unless another forum member knows, you may have to pay Honda Service Express for the info. I don't know if the fuse through which the power for that accessory flows could handle a refrigerator, but a fuse diagram might answer part of your question.

There's a diagram of the rear parking sensor accessory here. It appears to include its own 2A fuse.

The only place I can think of that is on all the time in the trunk is if you tap into the trunk light circuit before the switch. But that probably won't be enough to power a cooler. I think the best bet is to tap the fuse box and get a 15 or 20 amp circuit for the cooler.

I know this is the obvious answer, but why not tap into the 12V socket in the back seat? Probably would never need both at the same time?
Because it would require running a wire from the center console to behind the back seats, so I'd prefer something already in the trunk.

Especially when on a trip, having the wire going back makes it obvious the trunk has stuff oin it

The 12V socket may be worth a second look. It is probably, appropriately fused for your intended application, whereas the fuse for the trunk light may be on a lower amperage fuse. A wire could be routed discreetly, under the carpet if need be, tucked under to door sill trim, under the rear seat cushions and into the trunk. You could also pull the plug, cut the wires, splice new wires and run them inside the center console, under the carpet to the trunk as mentioned above, then reinstall the plug as a blank so there is nothing plugged in for criminals to see.
