Paint on 2022 Niro EV scratches, esp in door handle wells

My Niro is just turning one year old and already the wells for the drivers and passenger side exterior door handles are scratching badly. Is there any fix for this? Is the clear coat bad?

Some people use a piece of paint-protection film to protect the paint behind the door handles.

Rings don't seem to be the issue. It is fingernails (which are well trimmed). I have been wondering if there is paint protection film flexible enough to fit the dished service. I'll see what the local parts folks can suggest.

If you have an automotive detail shop near you they may have some clear plastic guard for the door wells. I'm thinking the same material that's on the lower rear door at the rear of the door. It looks like it might act as a stone guard.

Just google "kia niro paint protection film door". For example, Kia Stuff offers protectors for the paint in the door pockets. WeatherTech has a package that includes door-pocket protectors, too.
