Notes from delivery of a 2022 SE

Over the course of waiting for my SE to arrive I had of course been on this forum learning all I could. More recently I was becoming a bit more anxious as it seemed that some were receiving their cars with features either missing or deleted due to shortages, as well as other issues. Some were known ahead of time some were not. Anyway so I just wanted to make a quick post stating that it is in fact possible to receive a 2022 Signature trim with all features as originally specified.

- Shifting from R to F, or vice versa, happens with no delay. Don't even need to step on the brake pedal if you are already at a stop (can actually be rolling just a tad too). Same as how it works on a Tesla for those that are familiar.
- Rear parking sensors are in place and functional. Lines and other settings all appear on screen as they should.
- Heated steering wheel in place and functional
- Shutter assembly secure on both sides and is installed correctly from the factory

Other quick notes just from some initial impressions of driving it for the first day:
- Regen braking in the default setting is great, but expected it to be stronger. I've seen others complain how it is very strong, but they must not have driven other electric cars...
- There were some threads on the pedestrian warning sound being loud. I thought they were just complainers. Turns out it is actually a tad loud, and seems a bit excessive that it's on until about 25mph. I won't adjust anything with it still, but interesting.
- The base leather seats are really grippy and comfortable. Much better than expected. Way better than the ones in my Golf R!
- The GOM seems to be fairly accurate compared to others I have read about. It showed 119 miles on 100% charge. After some spirited driving, charging, and repeating, it shows 57 miles on 56% as it sits.
- Wish the car was a bit quicker. It's certainly great for 90% of driving but would be nice to just have a bit more on tap. Seems to be just a tad quicker than my Fiesta ST i used to have.

Big thanks again to everyone who brought some of the issues to light so we can all make sure our cars up to snuff!

It’s actually a lot quicker than a Fiesta ST up to about 60-70 at least as the young owner of one found out when we both ended up side by side at a red light..:
Launching a manual ICE car is tricky and you almost never get the factory figure whereas with an EV you always do, and in the case of the Mini you get better than the 6.9 they claim as I and other YouTubers get about 6.3… I’m wondering if the figure is better on the lighter 16” tyre combo and no moonroof…

Glad everything turned out well, I think this car will serve you very well for the years to come :).
Appreciate that, hope so too!

The curse of having Tesla experience. No other car I've ever owned could get to 60 mph in less than 10 seconds, so my SE is blindingly fast for me. OK, dimmingly fast.
Haha no joke. We have other fast cars as well, but man when that's your main EV comparison it's hard to think an EV should accelerate any differently lol

Glad to hear of the experience! Certainly from a roll all bets are off, but a realistic slow rolling acceleration around town is a different story. Maybe I'll get the opportunity to test this out some time soon! I also wondered about the wheels and moonroof difference. Doesn't matter a whole lot as I'll be adding different 17" wheels soon enough...
