With the double acoustic windows all around in the I6, the quietness really begged for a sound system upgrade. I read about this one on the main Ioniq forum where I5 and I6 owners with Bose systems were installing the Musway M6v4 which is manufactured in Germany but sold everywhere. I ended up buying it from a shop in Norway, as they were not only the cheapest, but did a specific EQ pre-tune for the I6 and the Bose speakers.

New amp got delivered yesterday and today I installed it. Couple of challenges with the installation, but nothing insurmountable. And was happy to see it all work when I turned it on. Sound is indeed much better, more detail and a very strong bass. Had to dial that back -1. With the old amp I turned the volume up to 20 to get the best sound. With this one, 10 is loud enough. The bass sure thumps, but the sound detail is evident across the frequency spectrum. Music really comes alive.

Anyway, will continue to enjoy and play different types of music. But so far all sounds good.
 
Have to say the pre-tune the Norway shop did for the I6 is perfect. Previously, had the car's EQ set with bass almost to the max and the treble up a few points as well. Now the car's EQ is set completely neutral and no other adjustments needed. I also changed my phone's audio EQ to neutral as well, as I had the bass set up higher there, too. Now the blue tooth audio sounds the same as the car's SXM, both great.

I previously thought the I6 had a pretty good sound system, after some adjustments. But with the Musway amp, I am surprised and happy how much better it is. Now I feel like I want to go for a drive, just to listen to the music!!

BTW, the Musway amp has 31 EQ pre-set adjustments, and many other configuration settings. It would take a highly experienced audio engineer to get it tuned specifically for the I6's 8 Bose speakers and interior. No way I could have done the tuning myself. So was very happy to buy it all pre-configured, and just a simple physical install. No need for a pro car audio shop to do it for me.
