Adding 2170 cells and another motor is more than enough. Roadster will get 4680 cells. If anything the interior should become more like the Model 3 or Y or Cybertruck.
This idea that it needs a new interior when Tesla constantly improves stuff comes from BMW which got caught lying about its sales over 5 years (because Tesla has been destroying it globally.)

The company whose CEO said there is no need for electric cars (that customers don't want them) and diesel would still be strong 20 years from now and gasoline 30 years (in essence that Paris will fail)- this company which has quality and reliability which sucks as reflected in sales and financial results so bad worst in more than a decade that it got rid of its last CEO and followed up by lying about its declining sales (it did not admit or deny guilt) to access bond monies 18 billion USD and to protect its stock from earlier implosion - so it cans its ceo then lies about sales to say things are improving- this companies new CEO just tried to say batteries aren't good enough in performance for its M Series when BEVs have been utterly destroying its M Series for more than 5 years hence its real decline in market share so much it got caught lying.

What it wants is to install knobs and buttons in the middle of the iPhone screen to make it more Blackberry like.
It wants to go back prior to 2011 or back prior to 2007. Really BMW given that is a slow backwards bueracracy with an oligarchic family in the way, really it needed to start back in 2000 and work as hard as it could with the goal of being 100% green by 2020. Its not 10 years behind its 20 years behind. And this company that has been cheapening out its products for 3 decades whines and FUDs about a company that is raw substance. If you go back to the buggy makers you'll find the analogue for BMW trying to make the transtion and failing. Find the successful buggy maker that felt horses were here to stay.
