  • 140,000 Model 3 displaced a lot of sedan sales
  • ~140,000 trade-ins led to more affordable used sedans which inhibited new sedan sales
So in effect, not only are the new car sales impacted by the Model 3 but the used market prices are depressed which deferred new car sales. A two-for-one effect, sounds reasonable.

Yes, it's very good to see the Model 3 eating mostly into gasmobile market share, rather than mostly into sales of other BEVs!
