Mini Electric Racing

That video mentions upgrades needed to the BMS to overcome issues with heat, but it doesn't mention that the SE limits the available power when it heats up. This One Lap in the MINI Cooper SE (Electric) on the Race Track! video describes how much the car reduces its available power when heat issues arise. It will be interesting to see how the Romanians conquer this problem. Will BMW/MINI provide the solution? Will we get an electric JCW?
 
I recall a Car and Driver test from about 35 years ago when they put a huge turbo on a first gen RX-7. To further boost compression, they sat the intercooler in a tank filled with ice and water. I wonder if something that simple could keep the battery coolant cool for a race. Pit stop = new bag of ice!
 
I wonder if because of the heat-pump system, you could use the old 'I'm going over the Grapevine in California and I want to not overheat' trick by putting the heat on full blast?
