hi, I am in the market for a used Niro EV and plan to utilize the Used EV tax credit for which the 2023 Gen 2 Niro EV is now eligible. I have an option locally between a 2021 Ex Premium with 22700 miles, or a 2023 Wave with 48,000 miles. I plan to use an ODB2 reader and Car Scanner app to access battery SOH for both, and for the Gen 2 especially, the number of quick DC charges vs number of standard AC charges. Does anyone know of a rule of thumb for how many quick charges is bad relative to slow charges (something more specific than more slow and less fast?)

They are priced close enough together that price isn't a major factor. I am concerned about the "wheel of fortune" issue in the Gen 1, however unlikely it may be, and am leaning toward the Gen 2. However it only has 12,000 miles of basic warranty left and would probably expire (based on mileage) before the warranty on the 2021 does (based on the five years). Which would you pick?

A low mileage Gen 1 may not yet have had the fix (replacement of both the gearbox and motor). I had to do that with my old Kona EV (same drive train as the Gen 1 Niro) and that fixed it, but was done under warranty. Would be expensive if you had to pay for it. I would go for the Gen 2.
