August 2023 (last year) at Palm Beach Toyota dealer:

    • "Thank you Mr. Wilson, here is your key fob for the 2017 BMW i3-REx that we cut the price $2,000."
      • "Can we sucker you into an extended warranty?"
      • "Your temporary tags are good for 30 days to drive home to Alabama."
    • "Thank you for letting me steal it for $15,000, $2,000 cheaper than the going price and half the price of my first 2014 BMW i3-REx yet with 5,000 mi remaining battery warranty."
      • "Is I-95 the fastest way out of Florida to go home?"
A great deal that we each thought the other the fool.

First year, over 10,000 miles in my 'pocket rocket' that were not put on my 2019 Tesla Model 3. For last year, bought 5 gallons of gas which covers periodic engine maintenance runs and out of town, trips to test dual CCS-1/Tesla Superchargers, Magic Dock.

Two outta three Magic Docks sessions worked. At the failure, Tesla had not turned on the latest software. But while trying to charge my BMW, a punk kid stopped his yellow Corvette, rolled down the window and yelled "USA! USA! USA!" at me. That was when I decided to shop for an AR-15 (paid $510 out the door for a new S&W.)

The BMW i3-REx handles EV round trips to the rife range. Officially, I am practicing to hunt wild swine that weigh about 180 lbs, small than deer (I don't care for venison,) fast, and known to attack hunters. Never take a pistol to a gun fight so I brought up mental health with my family physician.

I have known two people who went nuts overnight. So I shared impression of the threat level: the plague of shootings including road rage and into homes; 2008 theft of Obama yard signs and second set draped with poison ivy strands; my purchase of four, Harris/Walz yard signs to coat with poison ivy extract (they are welcome to steal them); a former Marine 1971-75 qualified expert with a government issued M-16, and; my hate of the dam thing. She seemed OK with it.

The last straw was the punk kid 'road rage' yelling at me while I was trying to charge my parked BMW i3-REx.

My reply to those people is a smile and a thumbs-up. If they don't understand that we both love the USA, it's fine if they're left believing their negative message was lost in translation.

I was concentrating on charging my car and initially really didn't understand what was his problem. Then he drove off and I resolved that should a pistol packing, road rage jerk show up, I'll have an AR-15 to answer.

Wait. this is it? This is the "threat" you had when you where charging an EV. lmao. Talk about overreacting. In the other thread that got deleted you acted liked someone brandished a weapon at you. You need to stop going to that fake church. The mentally ill there are rubbing off on you and you are starting to believe in your own delusions now. The idea that you will get gunned down by some random maga bro is the funniest nonsense i've ever heard.

This is literally your mental state in Trump's America:

Anyone who supports mass immigration, mass abortion, or multiculturalism cannot claim to love america because supporting these concepts and the resulting policies only serve to reduce and replace the actual american population with people who do not care at all about america

It was until you started posting. Reflecting on the kid and local shooting and killing news led me to go shopping where I found a good deal. I've corrected the latent defects and thanks to my Marine service, I am trained and ready. Certainly calm enough to "break bread" with anyone.

I used to tell folks who talked like your posts and challenged me at work, "I don't have a charge number to talk sex, religion, or politics. But I will over lunch or after work at a bar." Three took me up and after a couple of minutes, when their angst had become exhausted, we have had a conversation. We still followed our individual beliefs but thereafter could collaborate where it makes sense. So that is why I propose we "break bread."

I am having trouble believing this. Do you really carry an AR 15 with you, just in case you have a road rage run-in again?

When going out of town, yes. It is in a rifle bag behind the front seats with the butt end unzipped for rapid extraction. The end magazine pouch has a 20 round magazine and a 10 ready round magazine. But at home, don't store a weapon in a car as that is what car thieves look for. Worse, it is not as dry as inside the home.

The AR-15 is carried open bolt in the bag with the safety on FIRE. Insert the 10 ready round magazine, release the bolt carrier, and it is ready. But I have plans to improve the cabin.

The passenger seat will be replaced with a cat-nap bed leaving three rear seat belted areas. Space on the driver side will be left so the weapon will be less visible and easier to reach. A detention spring and ball will hold the ready round magazine out of battery but it can be pressed into battery. I would like to automatically release the bolt latch ... perhaps inserting the magazine will push the weapon down and release the bolt carrier latch. This can also be a "Chinese finger latch" to frustrate those who don't know to push the weapon down, hard, to release. With a flat battery on the bottom of the magazine and contacts, insertion will turn on the laser designator. A cover will obscure the weapon, protect it from cabin debris, and enable quick extraction.

The operational scenario is to watch the other driver. If they leave their vehicle with a weapon, I will too. Otherwise, leave weapon, render aid, and call 911.

I am still struggling to imagine this is real. Is it common for people in the US to carry such fire power in their cars, just in case? Is this the culture that we talked about in another thread recently? IE, people prepared to settle their disputes with guns rather than de-escalatory actions?

It does bring to mind a situation I witnessed many, many years ago at a crowded beach in the US. Someone had put down a towel close to another couple on a beach, to squeeze in. It quickly erupted into a threatening shouting match, with the "intruder" eventually retreating. No guns involved, or even a physical fight. But it was definitely shocking to see. I have never seen anything like that again, but it did leave a disturbing memory of what could happen.

Why are people so quick to resort to potential violence to settle disputes??

>i view you as a threat

lmao. No. i'm not meeting you in person.

This isn't work and I highly doubt your characterizations of these situations are accurate - considering why bought an AR-15.

Breaking bread with you is pointless. I don't care how vaguely polite you are it doesn't change the fact that you actively participate in the destruction of my society. I have learned that "agree to disagree" only works if you share moral frameworks and compatible metaphysical frameworks. I wouldn't trust you alone with my kids.

This makes no sense. No sane person is using any rifle for self defense in a car. Handguns are far more portable and you can store it in the center console or the side of the door where access is far quicker.
