Hello all

I am new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I recently just purchased a VW ID.4 Pro S and live in Phoenix, AZ USA

Started reading through some threads and find EV very interesting and like getting different points of view.

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum, @JGIORD, and congrats on going electric with the VW ID. 4.

So far I like it a lot. My biggest complaint is that I wish it had more ground clearance. You really don’t feel like you are in a SUV, its more like a big car.

I’m still learning about it but overall I really like how it handles and feel that is has plenty of power. I have only put on about 20 miles so far just running around doing errands.

I am amazed at how much tech this thing has.

I do feel the collision warnings may be a bit too sensitive. I park in my garage and fairly close to another car and the alarm goes off even to a constant beep when I know I still have almost six inches of space. I guess I just need to get used to it, or turn it off.

Thanks

Welcome to the EV world! And yes, the feeling of instant, silent power is wonderful -- after 17 months of ownership, I still love it. And yeah, the ID 4 -- much like my Hyundai Kona, seems like one of those crossovers that's marketed as an SUV but at best just barely qualifies as one. I think of my car as a tall hatchback -- which is okay by me, since I'm not exactly going to take on the Rubicon Trail -- but marketing has started to obliterate distinctions between types of vehicles. FWIW, I think a lot of manufacturers are still struggling with how to best calibrate the safety nannies. They're great, but imperfect.

I very much agree with you Bruce. Coming from a 4Runner I really liked the high driving position. Seems like there are no EVs with that kind of ground clearance yet.

Nice! I enjoyed my test drive with the vehicle and our Podcast co-hosts rave about it after testing it for thousands of miles. Very good all-rounder.
I hope to drive the all-wheel-drive version soon.
