I recently changed my tires to a new set of the NEXEN AH8's and it appears that tire noise is lower with new tires compared to worn ones..

Hi, has anyone tries to Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance tyres?Well, I still have the Nexens, so, that may be the reason for the tire noise but the wind noise is also better on the i3. It's not that the noise level bothers me on the Kona, it's just that the i3 just feels a lot more quiet, especially around town with speeds up to 60 mph.. My tires on the Kona are below 50% at just under 30k miles and I'll likely go with them again, mostly because of the range. I know that they have crappy grip and are noisy but I don't want to sacrifice any range by going with different tires and I don't want to spend 2 times of the cost of the Nexens for the Michelin's which get the same range. Unless there is an alternative that gets the same range at the same or lower price, I'll stay with Nexens.. Walmart has the same Nexens for under $100 each while the Michelin Primacy MXV4's cost twice that..
The Nexens are ok if you don't drive aggressive in the rain.. If you don't drive very careful with them in the rain, they spin like crazy.. Cornering in wet weather is ok but accelerating is horrible. The only reason I go with the Nexens as they are they give me great range.. They are crappy tires for everything else.. I think that they are the exact same tire.. I actually getting a little worse mi/kwh by something like 0.2 to 0.4 worse mi/kwh.. Not sure why..So, better than the OEM Nexens??

One thing that I noticed that the maximum pressure on the old Nexen AH8's was over 50 psi while the current ones show 44 psi max... Weird.. If it's the same tire, why the different maximum pressure??

Says "Made in Korea" on the tire...More tread, more rolling resistance.

I definitely had the AH8 on my car and my original and current AH8's are 94V rated. The size you specified is wrong.. The Kona Electric does not come with 18 inch wheels, therefore 215/45R18 can't be right. The Nexen specs show the NFera SU1 as a premium performance, asymmetrical tyre, while the NPriz AH8 is shown as a mid-range, non-directional tyre.
The SU1 is higher rated for wet and dry grip, and handling, and the same for comfort.
The AH8 is shown as slightly better for noise, ice and snow, and longevity.
The SU1 as a performance tyre would have stronger construction, and a higher pressure rating. The load/speed rating is 94V, while the AH8 rating (215/45R18) is 89V.
