How to keep hatch down on SE when you carry oversized 8’ load without any damages to a car?

Bc I carry few 2x4 or 80” mirror sliding doors I developed a way to keep hatch door down with bungee straps . On hutch are two screws I put a strong strip with those 2screws permanently and under a car I install a wire where a plastic enclosure are fastened at 4 locations now I can keep a hatch down with bungee hook straps without any damage to a car or bumper.Just an idea for DIY guys.

And I’m cheep to invest in to cross bars to carry a load on a roof ..

I have in the past uses string etc between the catch and the loop on the body it latches onto.

Coming soon on insideEVs: A guide to making some eBay $125 R54 aerobars fit an F56. I need to do some photos and cut/paint two more bits. I'm doing this at work, so it is subject to getting away from real work...
