How it should be done

And how much is Toyota going to spend to expand the hydrogen infrastructure for those FCEVs?

They started spending their own cash on them in Japan, but only after the government there forced them too. If they truly believed in hydrogen for cars, why not spend some that large amount of wealth in making the cars work for people instead of waiting for public funds to do it? Tesla believed BEVs could replace an ICE car for people, and starting building Superchargers to make it possible.
This is why I'm a fan of Tesla and not the other EV makers. Even those who have dealer networks are putting up L2 chargers that are locked up at night and ICE inventory blocked during business hours.

Installation of a 24x7, open access, fast DC charger separates the posers from the doers!

This may not be the norm for all dealers, but on a trip last year I had the opposite experience. We stopped at Castlegar BC for a bite where I knew the Chevy dealer had a free L3 charger (only free L3 in town). But when we got there, there was a new Bolt hooked up being charged. I went in to ask how long it would be charging, and the service guy offered to unplug the Bolt and let me charge the Kona. And there was a Hyundai dealer there across the street (no L3 though)!!

One thing about Tesla, is that there Superchargers are not free, or at least any I have seen, except maybe still for the old S models.

I like the Gridserve Electric Forecourt with meeting pods, lounge, and retail stores. At 45p/kWh or $0.562USD/kWh for 350kW charging that's pretty good!

This whole charge by the minute thing is dumb. Might as well install more 25-50kW DC fast chargers so nobody complains about coldgate for time based charging on their 800V car.
