HondaLink not connecting with IPhone

For the past few months the HondaLink app stopped working when I try to connect with my IPhone to turn on climate preconditioning. I get an error message that says something like "Sorry, someone involved in this connection is an idiot. Try later." The app works fine from my IPad, but nothing but error messages with the phone. Anybody else have this problem and solved it?

I can only report that I have not had problems starting preconditioning using my iPhone in the past year or so.

I used to have some issues with earlier app versions (say, late 2019 early 2020). But it is has actually been fairly stable for me as the app had been steadily updated.

For what it is worth, when I was having problems back then, completely logging out of the app and back in would sometimes help.
