Just purchased a 2018 Civic LX with 8,900 miles.
Prior to the purchase I was searching for extended warranties and happen to discover that I can purchase a Honda Care warranty and can be purchased out of state. I’m in NJ. Made some calls and filled out a form from a dealer in MA.
Actually called the dealer in MA cause I was somewhat skeptical and he said it’s a genuine Honda Care warranty.

I told the MA I would get back to him.
In the Honda F&I office at the dealer we purchased the vehicle was offered an extended warranty. I asked if it was Honda Care and he said no it’s a 3rd party and he said even Honda Care is administered from a 3rd party. The pricing he offered was $1599 10 / 100k. However in this case it’s when the vehicle became in service which is 2018. So coverage is 8 years from 2018.
I told the F&I guy I’m able to get a bonafide genuine Honda Care warranty for the pricing above. He said that’s impossible , something doesn’t sound right, better check to make sure because XYZ. He also said it’s probably not a Honda Care warranty.
Can anyone offer some insight on this? I checked out the dealer in MA and they seem legit and talking with him he assured me it’s a real Honda Care warranty.
