I tried creating a gallery, which worked fine. Now I want to delete it but I don't see how to do that! Is everything we create really permanent?

Yes.

I don't think so. My browser doesn't show icons, but it will show boxes with pop-up labels, but there aren't enough of them. The labels are:

Use Media as Avatar
Move Media
Download Media
Full Size Media
View Media in Lightbox
(and two more greyed out boxes, probably for the arrows)

Probably, as an administrator or staff member, you get the extra boxes while I don't. Or, as a long shot, my browser doesn't support them.
