These images show both the driver's display and the center infotainment display. Both show the gear icon. On relatively level ground it stays on most of the time at this speed.
This is from today while driving from Illinois, through Kentucky and Tennessee, and currently in Alabama. Will return to Tennessee later. Burning gas today!

I saw the gear show up the other day. I've only owned the car a week and had no idea what it meant or how to reproduce it. Btw I haven't seen it since.
Any good threads on the basics of the gear and drivetrain? I think I've finally figured out HV, HV charge and when and where to use them. But otherwise things are still a bit of a black box for me.
