So far, yes. My hardware 2.5 was updated already to 3.0. However 4.0 is not backwards compatible.

Everything has an ‘end of life’ which means no further maintenance. For example an ancient cable modem I could only fix with my iPhone 7 yesterday. Another expense avoided.
